A QUEENSLAND quadruple amputee will undergo life-changing surgery next week to regain her independence.
Korrin Barrett, 36, lost her legs and hands to a severe case of septicaemia in 2012 but has spent three years determined to living the fullest life possible.
Ms Barrett will travel to Sydney with her partner Craig Holmwood to undergo major surgery to implant new titanium legs to help her walk unaided.
The two-stage procedure, known as an osseointegration, involves surgeons implanting a titanium rod in Ms Barrett’s tibia which will allow the bone to grow inside.
