Good morning, happy Sunday.
I didn't get a chance to blog last night as I actually managed to ESCAPE the hospital for a few hours and didn't get back until well after curfew hehe.
Being a Saturday my day wasn't overly exciting as there is limited staff and I decided to forego going to Physio as my legs needed a break after pushing it a little too hard during the week. I did get a visit from my beautiful cousin Kelle though which was awesome <3
After asking at 2pm if I could have a 'gate pass' to go out for dinner I was finally given the all clear at 5:30pm so Lisbeth, Justin and I prepared for our night out 👣 we booked a maxi taxi to take Justin's scooter and my wheelchair and at 6:30 they arrived to take us in to Darling Harbour but we realised quickly that everyone in Sydney was heading in the same direction and an hour later we made it 👍
We were all STARVING for real food so headed to Hard Rock Cafe and ordered enough food for 6 🍗🍟 and managed to eat only an eighth of it lol. While eating we were lucky enough to see the fireworks show as part of the Vivid Festival and have vowed to head back in again before the festival finishes this week 💥🔥
Our taxi driver Charlie was great and has offered to take us into town again anytime we need...could be dangerous 🙈🙉🙊
Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend so far 😍
Additional note: below is a pic of a tissue box and in front of it is a stack of medication tubs they use in here...there is 11 in that stack and that was from a 24 hour period!!!! Apparently there is a single use policy in the hospital...I get that but seriously??? Can't it be a single patient use policy as in 'let's use the same container for a few days' instead of a new one every time they give you a tablet? Wastage in hospitals has always been a pet peeve of mine BUT the saving grace here is they have a sorting area onsite where all rubbish is checked and anything suitable is sent off for recycling... at least that's something #partialredemption
